DCS - Mission Planning and Briefing Guide

This manual is designed to lay out the framework for the elements and thought process needed for effective package leadership and mission planning.  It will do so using the framework of an OPORD to walk you through all the factors and elements that must be taken into consideration and addressed for an effective development of a mission and to lead that mission.  In real world operations, as the OPORD works its way down through the different command levels, more detailed OPORDs get generated with more and more details until it gets to the Squadron/Company level where the actual operational planning happens.  

As well as how to best structure your briefing in order to have an effective briefing which then leads into an effective flight, whether it is a training flight or combat flight.  

This manual will encompass the theory, concepts, and practical applications of combat operations planning.  Very little, if any, of the detailed “click-this,to-do-that” within the DCS Mission Editor.
